Laboratory of Adsorption and Separation Processes

Research Focus

Our research is focused on adsorption separation processes including high-purity oxygen production with emphasis on medical oxygen concentrators, natural gas upgrading, and helium purification. We are also involved in research on process design and optimization of sustainable separation processes, carbon capture, and storage, and flow through porous media. Laboratory of Separation and Adsorption Processes is led by Dr. Sayed Alireza Hosseinzadeh Hejazi and is based in the Department of Chemical Engineering, Amirkabir University of Technology (Tehran Polytechnic).

Our recent work with Dr. Ashwin Kumar Rajagopalan (The University of Manchester) and Amir mohammad Elahi on "Marrying Materials and Processes: A Superstructure Inspired Optimization Approach for Pressure Swing Adsorption Proc2021 AIChE Annual Meetingesses for Pre-Combustion CO2 Capture" was presented at 2021 AIChE Annual Meeting.

Amir and Kimia have successfully defended their BSc research thesis. Congratulation to both!
